Gas Monitor Technical Service Bulletins

PM2000 Bulletins:

Reported Symptom(s):
Instrument randomly locks up and will not respond to keypad input, usually after a number of years in operation.

Cause:
In some instances silver material from the conductive traces on the keypad pigtail migrate through the outer cover of the pigtail. An electrical short can then occur across the instrument housing’s conductive internal surface and the keypad traces. This results in the keypad becoming non-responsive to user input.

Solution:
Adding insulating tape to the inside surface of the instrument housing at the point where the keypad pigtail is located eliminates the possibility of electrical shorts. Contact the factory for additional information.
